Pastoral Counselor and/or Mental Health Therapist
An outpatient, pastoral counseling and mental health practice that addresses our patients’ struggles with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, loss, and relationship difficulties such as couples’ and family issues. We strive to work with our patients to foster healing, growth and life-giving change.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Providing professional counseling services to clients from intake to termination, including referral to other community resources whenever appropriate.
Such care will routinely entail: (i) intake, assessment and diagnosis, and goal setting with clients; (ii) scheduling timely and consistent appointments; (iii) providing consistent psychotherapeutic support and intervention to help clients progress towards agreed-upon treatment goals; (iv) providing crisis intervention, stabilization, and appropriate referral to ensure client safety; and (v) termination and evaluation when treatment ends successfully or when clients are no longer using therapy effectively to accomplish their goals.
At all times, the practitioner must create and maintain appropriate records including those related to intake, assessment and client goals, process notes, evaluation summaries, critical incident reports, termination, insurance, billing, and compensation for services.
The practitioner is responsible for developing his or her own referral sources and caseload. To that end, the practitioner should maintain a strong collegial relationship with all members of the LRC staff and with referral sources from the community.
The practitioner must also maintain appropriate licensure in good standing, attend and engage in LRC’s monthly confidential clinical consultations, and carry a personal professional liability insurance policy. LRC assumes no liability for the professional services of any therapist.
