Frequently Asked Questions
How much does it cost?
What is the process?
The first step is to continue to do what you are doing. Searching for answers to find the right fit. Once you are ready, all you need to do is call (904) 398-2437 and dial extension 103 if you do not have a specific counselor in mind. Or request an appointment for a particular mental health therapist. From that point forward, we will walk you through to your first appointment and what to expect.
How many counseling sessions will it take?
The amount of therapy or the time it takes to go through counseling is impacted by your personal circumstances. Whether you are working on particular issues, with a partner or family, the length of treatment may change. In addition to the circumstances that bring you to treatment, your goals for therapy also play a role in how long you see a counselor. There is no reason to burden yourself with the pressure of “fixing” something within a specified time frame.
How often will we meet?
As with the previous question, counseling depends on your personal situation. However, most start out seeing a counselor once a week. In time you may transition to every other week or once a month.
What ages do you see?
Our therapists feel comfortable working with ages 10 through adults. In many cases working with youth or younger children may also involve the parents to some degree.
What are the qualifications of the therapist?
Holding true to our values, all therapist at Life Renewed Counseling have professional training from an accredited graduate-level program or higher, in the mental health field or in Pastoral Counseling. Our clinical staff includes interns (those who have completed their graduate degree) and state licensed staff meeting the standards set by the state of Florida. Many of our therapists are also certified in other specialty training including Prepare-Enrich, CBT, DBT, etc…
What about insurance?
Confidentiality & Privacy Issues?
Conversations between a counselor and a client are governed by the ethical standards of our profession and remain private unless we receive written consent from the client. There are only three exceptions.
Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elderly abuse, for which we are required by law to report to the appropriate authorities immediately.
A client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person/s, we notify the police and inform the intended victim.
A client intends to harm themselves, we must take measures without their permission that are provided to the therapist by law to ensure their safety.
Not only are the conversations kept private, but so is the fact that you are receiving therapy from Life Renewed Counseling. Our therapist and staff do not reveal to others whether or not one is receiving treatment.
